This poignant image ( urge up , buddy ! ) of a pup named “ Blizzard ” was take in 1912 by Antarctic adventurerFrank Hurley , who two year later would be the photographer on Ernest Shackleton ’s famedEndurance outing . This dig is from the First Australasian Antarctic Expedition , which set out in 1911 .
