Well , that tournament and all the drama surrounding it will be the topic of a young dramatic point production being co - write by Martin along with playwright Duncan MacMillan . Dominic Cooke will direct . The Hollywood Reporterbroke the tidings and here ’s the play ’s official verbal description : “ The play will for the first time take audiences deep behind the scenes of a landmark event that antecedently was shrouded in mystery . feature many of the most iconic and well - known lineament from the serial publication , the production will sport a storey centered around love , payback , madness , and the dangers of dealing in divination , in the process revealing secrets and lies that have only been hinted at until now . ”
