The professional soccer players met for the first time when they both played for the United States Women’s National Team. Almost one decade after they met, the professional soccer players tied the knot in December 2019.
“It just feels like we’re kind of coming together as one," Krieger told PEOPLE at the time of their decision to wed. “We feel like we’re at a really good place and a really comfortable place and the age that we’re at, especially, we feel real confident in the foundation that we’ve built.”
Krieger and Harris helped the USWNT winthe 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup Final, giving America its fourth championship in the tournament. They each have two World Cup wins to their name.
During their relationship,they adopted two kidstogether: daughter Sloane in 2021 and son Ocean in 2022. Amid their busy professional careers, they made sure to prioritize their little ones, telling PEOPLE that “family comes first now” after adopting Sloane.
In September 2023,Harris filed for divorce from Kriegerin Florida, PEOPLE confirmed via the Seminole County Clerk’s website.

Both professional American soccer players, Harris is a former goalkeeper and Krieger is currently a defender for Gotham FC. They are two-time World Cup champions, respectively.
The former couple will retire from the sport one year apart from each other. Harris hung up her cleats in November 2022 after a 13-year career, while Krieger announced in early 2023 that she would retire after this year’s NWSL season, marking nearly 16 years in the sport.
They met through soccer in 2010

Krieger and Harris met when playing for the United States National Team in 2010. They previously told PEOPLE that they instantly “clicked” and became “really close friends.”
“We always sat next to each other on the bus and on flights, and we kind of just talked about our dreams and our hopes and what we wanted to do one day when we grew up. Because at the time, we were kids,” Harris exclusively told PEOPLE in 2019.
“The rest has kind of been history. Here we are nine years later, and we’re going to be getting married this year,” she said at the time.

Harrisproposedto Krieger in March 2019 in Clearwater Beach, Florida. After the couple’s participation in the U.S. women’s national soccer team win at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup Final, the pair tied the knot that December.
Of the wedding, Harris noted its significance with regard to inclusion. “This will be the first time in our relationship where all of our friends, all of our family are going to come together to be one and to celebrate us on a completely different level,” Harris told PEOPLE at the time.
“I think so much of our support from our family and friends have been through soccer and this is just so much more meaningful, in my opinion, to be celebrated for love and acceptance and inclusion, that’s so major in the world we live in now," she added.
They have a couple nickname

Prior to making their relationship public, Harris and Krieger kept their romance on the down low in order to not “create a distraction” for their Orlando Pride teammates and the franchise at the time. Meanwhile, fans were quick to catch wind of their low-key relationship and ultimately gave the couple the nickname “Krashlyn.”
They share two kids together

In May 2021, Harris told PEOPLE that being a mom has been her favorite job yet. “I feel like I’ve had a lot of job titles and cool job titles — professional athlete, world champion — but being a mom for sure surpasses it all,” Harris said.
“This has been one of the most rewarding, incredible experiences I’ve ever done in my life. And being able to do it with Ali has just been the coolest moment of my life, truthfully,” she continued. “We’re just really, really happy and we’re just glowing.”
They filed for divorce after nearly four years of marriage

Harris filed for divorce from Krieger on Sept. 19, 2023, in Florida, PEOPLE confirmed via the Seminole County Clerk’s website. Representatives for Harris and Krieger did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Shortly after their divorce was made public, a source told PEOPLE that “although it’s new information to the public,“the couple’s divorce “began months agoand they have been living apart since the summer.”
