Just after he gets the chance of a lifetime , he stumble into a manhole and wakes up in the hereafter about to “ go into the light . ” Determined to get back to his own life , he break away and regain himself in the Great Before — the position where new souls are shaped .
With the assistant of 22 ( Tina Fey ) , a obstinate soul who ’s never known the experience of a corporeal grade , Joe travels through the afterlife to find a way of life to return to his comatose soundbox — finding out what it think of to be human along the room .
