Timeline is the most beautiful thing to happen to Facebook , but it ’s not without its disparager . Complaint numero uno : the double - column layout is perplexing , causing user to panic , unable to discern when events in their lives chance . Why are these two thing next to each other ? Which happened first ? Where am I ? Who am I ?
Your secular nightmare may presently beover .
According to InsideFacebook , the company is test out a new , single - column opinion , which expose Timeline events in a purely upright parliamentary procedure . No more having to move your eyeball slightly from side to side . fresh things are higher , older things are dispirited . This will be easier to follow , but also wastes a mickle of space , making Timeline one-half as wide as it is now . It ’s a tradeoff - and maybe it ’ll be an optional layout , who knows!-but it will for sure appease many who still have n’t acclimated to design .

Facebook affirm that it ’s screen the skinny Timeline with a little paring of exploiter . If you ’re one , drop me an @on Twitter .
Update : Giz reader Mike is one of the chosen few :
I wish what they ’re doing on the first couple screens - worth of content with the timeline posts on the left side and the Friend , the like , pic , event , etc . on the veracious side , but once you get beyond those it ’s kind of awkward to have half of your screen material estate just white .

sound about veracious .
