So today is my last daytime at Gizmodo . Or , well , Friday was , and by now I am relaxing somewhere not thinking about gadgets . But in any case , I ’m done .

It ’s been a pretty amazing rivulet here , lasting nearly four years , and I ’m run to miss the hell out of it . What other job devote you to test drug gear and sex toys , to make zany videos and unscientific quizzes ? No other chore , that ’s what .
But all unspoilt things must come to an end , which is why I ’ve determine to move on .
I ’m starting a new website called Splitsider with the guy rope behindThe Awl . It ’s going to be a blog that focuses on comedy , one of my biggest passion , and I ’m very , very delirious about it . It ’s launching soon , and I hope you ’ll come check it out . you may surveil theSplitsider Twitter accountfor updates on it and details on the launch .
But back to Gizmodo . I need to thank all of my coworkers who really made this job the awing experience that it was . First and firstly , I ’ve catch ta thank Blam , who not only took a leap on hiring me way back in 2006 but has always encouraged me to do what I was good at and what I thought was fun rather than trying to fit into some other sort of technical school writer mold . I certainly would n’t have been around for this long if I did n’t have someone so supportive egging me on . For just or bad .
And the rest of the Gizmodo crew , preceding and present , well , they ’re some of the most fun coworkers anyone could demand for . I ’m not quite sure how I ’m going to stay sane without the always - entertaining chatroom chugging along in the background all day while I work . And I ’m rifle to be a little heartbroken come January when I ’m not in Vegas with the work party , corrode nonsensical meals , toast way too much and chance irresponsibly . But then , that sadness may be outweighed by the total joy I ’ll feel not really having to step onto the CES show floor again . We ’ll see !
And of course of study , the readers and commenters . It ’s not an exaggeration to say that half the fun of working at Giz is seeing how you guys react to our posts . I ’ll credibly never work anywhere else that has such a fun , crazy and diverse grouping of people reading and react to what I write . I ’ll escape you brainsick whoreson ! Keepin feeling !
So yeah , it ’s been a great drive , one that I would n’t give up for anything and will miss like hell . But , hey , you got ta take a leaping sometimes , correct ? But I ’m comforted by the fact that I ’ll still show up here on Giz with characteristic on a semi - regular basis , so it ’s not a complete good day .
I ’ll leave you with , if not my fine body of work , some of my favorite thing that I ’ve done in my sentence here at Giz . Please clack on all of them lots of times so Blam will give me a nice fat go - away fillip . I mean , it ’s the least you could do , right ?
