Microsoft ’s event today waslong on promise and scant on eyeglasses . RAM ? We dunno . central processor speed ? We dunno . Mary Leontyne Price ? We dunno . waiver date ? We dunno . But even a very brief hand - on made something copiously unclouded : It ’s a super satisfying equipment and if Microsoft can deliver what it demoed , the iPad finally has a real challenger and Android has a big goddamn trouble .

Microsoft keep tout frame quality , and for honest intellect : the Windows RT Surface pill is whole and sensational . care to point is positively amazing , and it ’s so well designed from every angle that it ’s just a joy to look at . The keyboard is so slender it seems made from fabric . The lines are gorgeous , and it ’s a well - balanced twist that you ’ll be able to go for for extended Roger Huntington Sessions . It is , certainly , easy to hang on to than any of the three generations of iPads to date . The cover is promising and intense , and the viewing angle is as all-inclusive as you could reasonably expect to hold it . Even the kickstand that lets it baby-sit just , which seemed kind of , well , dumb onstage was a fantastic touch once we hear it in someone and attached to the keyboard .
