Or they are , but they are n’t captured with a full set . That word-painting from your old - model Flip phone ? No metadata there , or not enough metadata . Also , many popular websites – for example Facebook – flight strip EXIF tag . So it ’s not possible to get the metadata unless you may somehow get access to the source file – which means hack .
All that mean that there are a batch of prototype out there with no metadata and/or with metadata that you ca n’t get to very easy . But these images might still have ocular information within the image , or other clues , that could enable a system – either wholly automated or using machine-controlled and human process together – to make a guess about where the image was look at . The best case for intelligence analysts would be a fully automated system . This path they could suck in images from a terrorist web site , download them off of get television camera or cell phones , or scan them from hard copy , and feed all this through the system and get locations of where the images were consider . With more and more images being produce in our world every mean solar day this automated coming is going to be crucial .
